"For this I praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your name." 2 Samuel 22:50
Most of you know (if you have ever read my blog) that I LOVE the Proverbs 31 site. My mornings start with my journal, my favorite pen, and the daily devotion on this site. Sometimes I pray that the devotion will speak to me; however, I too pray that the devotional site will speak to my friends. Recently, I have two friends going through similar situations that has allowed me the opportunity to share the site with them. The night before lunch with my old friend, I prayed that God would provide a devotion that I could share with her. As I read the devotion that morning, it was exactly what I had asked for. I printed it off and took it to lunch with a journal because it was perfect for her. The little celebrations and softly whispered thank you's came in response to a perfectly written devotion that was "on point" for what my old friend was feeling. Both of my friends are now too addicted to this site (just like me) and I celebrate when I receive a text saying "Did you read Proverbs yet?" A simple celebration because I was able to share a site that has meant so much in my life with sweet friends..
"Sing to God, sing praises to his name...." Psalm 68:4
A different celebration of sort...Have you ever been to a 6 year olds birthday party? Oh to be young again! Pinatas, princess cake, presents, birthday songs, and the presents. As I watched my little cousin beg to open presents, hit a Frozen pinata in which candy spilled out, and only eat the icing on her birthday cake, I was reminded yet again of the simple joys of blessings. Surrounding me was a supportive fiance who is happy to join me at a family get together, a family that refers to me as "Frog" (my childhood nickname since birth because I had big green eyes), sweet parents who I am so incredibly thankful for, and laughter and smiles all around. Riding home that night with my parents, we laughed as we gave Rob the grand tour of that part of town and shared stories. When we pulled up to my parents house, I looked up to the sky, staring at the clear night dotted with constellations, and softly whispered thank you. Thank you for the blessings of happiness that are gifts from above spread throughout our lives like the stars in the night sky.
"These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." John 15:11
For all of our journeys in life are faced with celebrations and roller coaster rides. At times we are celebrating weddings or new careers and other times are simple moments such as not burning a casserole. It's remembering that those little joyous moments are just as grand as the big occasions as you softly whisper thank you.
As always, thanks so much for reading! I hope to catch up and share the drafts that have been sitting in my blog site for months!
Faith.. Patience...Love to all of my readers! Joy
